Lamola says the Commonwealth should work closely with SA

South Africa’s (SA) International Relations and Co-operation Minister Ronald Lamola says the Commonwealth should work closely with SA in addressing migration challenges facing the region.

Lamola was speaking at the 19th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth Africa Region in Kempton Park, Gauteng Province.

Expectations are high as legislators seek to forge a united voice on critical issues confronting the continent.

A historic gathering held at one of SA’s most significant landmarks.

The very venue that hosted pre-democratic negotiations and paved the way for the country’s first democratic elections in 1994.

Three decades later, SA and its fellow Commonwealth members find themselves grappling with a host of pressing challenges.
