South Africa (SA) is mourning the loss of one of its top diplomats, Ambassador Muzikayifani Khehla Joseph Nkosi, who passed away over the weekend while serving as the country’s envoy to Chad.
Nkosi had been leading SA’s diplomatic mission in N’Djamena since 2022. A veteran in foreign service, he previously served as SA’s ambassador to Venezuela, where he spent years strengthening political and economic ties between the two nations.
Paying tribute to the late diplomat, International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola commended Nkosi for his unwavering commitment to pushing SA’s interests forward and building stronger alliances across the continent and beyond.
The Department of International Relations and Co-operation has sent its deepest condolences to Ambassador Nkosi’s family, friends, and diplomatic colleagues.
