The trial adjourned on Wednesday to allow the defense lawyers time to obtain a ballistic report. The pig farmer, Zacharia Olivier is being tried for the murders of two women, Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu, as well as attempted murder on Mabutho Ndlovu.
Olivier’s worker, William Musora is facing charges of defeating the ends of justice, and the contravention of the Immigration Act as he is in the country illegally. Another worker, Rudolph de Wet has turned state witness. de Wet will continue to be cross examined by Olivier’s lawyer, Advocate Jacobus Venter.
Former accused number two, and now the section 204 state witness, Rudolph de Wet on Wednesday told the court that the reason for disposing the two bodies of the two women in the pigsty was to conceal evidence. While being cross examined by the defense lawyer Advocate Jacobus Venter, de Wet testified that accused number three, William Musora was not present during the night of the shooting. He further told the court that Maria Makgato’s and Kudzai Ndlovu’s killing was not unplanned.
