Police in South Africa (SA) are continuing investigations at the scene of a deadly shooting in Bekkersdal township, west of Johannesburg in Gauteng, where ten people were killed and another ten injured overnight.

Reports indicate that unidentified gunmen opened fire at a local tavern, striking both patrons inside the venue and people gathered outside. The motive for the attack is not yet known.

The wounded were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, while police cordoned off the area to collect evidence. No arrests have been made so far.

Authorities say a manhunt for the suspects is under way as investigations continue.
