The entity says investigations conducted by an independent law firm found no facts to substantiate the allegations that the CEO inflated payments to contractors. City Power Spokesperson, Isaac Mangena says the probe revealed that Mashava did not influence hiring processes of alleged family members.
“After an extensive review of the documentation interviews with officials, the report found these allegations to be without basis, the investigations confirmed that Mashaba did not participate in in or even influence any recruitment processes involving individuals alleged to be her relatives. It further verified that those individuals met all competency and qualification requirements for their roles and that the CEO recused herself were appropriate. The report concluded that there was no evidence of favoritism or policy breaches in the appointments,” he said.
