South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Ayanda Dlodlo as Ambassador to France.

Dlodlo has held various cabinet positions before and during the Ramaphosa administration.

These include Minister of Communication, Home Affairs and State Security.

Dlodlo replaces the late Ambassador, Nathi Mthethwa.

He died late last year, allegedly after falling from the 22nd floor of a hotel in the French capital, Paris.
