The Western Cape High court in South Africa (SA) will deliver its ruling on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s bid to halt the work of Parliament’s Impeachment Committee by the end of next week.
Ramaphosa wants the Parliamentary process suspended pending the review of the Section 89 Independent Panel report, that found that he has a prima facie case to answer over the the theft of undeclared foreign currency from his game farm.
In replying arguments, Ramaphosa’s legal counsel, Advocate Wim Trengove said that the panel did not find sufficient evidence against the President, because they merely relied on prima facie evidence, which in his opinion is not enough.
