South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially welcomed Indonesia as the newest member of the Brazil, Russia, India, China, and SA (BRICS) coalition.
This expansion marks a pivotal moment for the bloc, signaling a shift towards greater inclusivity and global representation.
Ramaphosa emphasied the importance of strengthening bilateral ties with Indonesia, highlighting ongoing discussions aimed at building a more inclusive economic framework that benefits citizens of both nations.
Later today, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will host Ramaphosa at the State Palace in Jakarta for a high-level bilateral meeting.
The leaders are expected to deepen cooperation in key sectors such as trade, investment, and economic development, while also exchanging views on pressing global challenges.
