South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has reiterated the Presidency’s support for enhanced parliamentary oversight, describing it as a critical pillar of transparency, accountability and democratic governance.
Addressing the National Assembly during the tabling of the Presidency Budget Vote in Cape Town, Western Cape, Ramaphosa welcomed the establishment of Parliament’s oversight committee on the Presidency.
He assured of Presidency’s full co-operation in the execution of its responsibilities.
Ramaphosa maintained that robust oversight mechanisms strengthen democratic institutions and promote greater accountability within the executive.
