South Africa’s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the keynote address at this year’s National Women’s Day commemoration event at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, Gauteng province this Sunday.

The occasion will mark 70-years since the historic 1956 march to the Union Buildings by thousands of women in protest against the Pass Laws.

This year’s commemoration takes place under the theme “Empowered Women, Empower Nations”. The day also marks the official start of Women’s month.
