South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa will next week attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as part of a working visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
During the visit, Ramaphosa is also expected to hold talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The engagement comes amid growing cooperation between SA and the UAE across several sectors.
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is an annual event hosted in the UAE capital, bringing together heads of state and government, private sector leaders and civil society to promote collaboration on global sustainability challenges. The forum focuses on driving large-scale systemic change and shaping the future of sustainable development.
SA and the UAE enjoy strong bilateral relations, marked by regular high-level engagements and expanding economic cooperation. The UAE is a major investor in SA, with interests in sectors including transport, logistics and renewable energy.
In 2024, trade between the two countries exceeded %5 billion, underlining the depth of their economic partnership.
