SA President to attend the 18th BRICS Summit in India

Discussions will take place against the backdrop of conflicts in the Middle East, Ukraine and Russia, and growing geopolitical tensions.
South Africa’s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to attend the 18th Brazil, Russia, India, and China and SA+ (BRICS) Summit in New Delhi, India, from Saturday to Sunday, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The summit, hosted under India’s chairship, will focus on trade and investment, financial cooperation, global governance reform and the interests of the Global South.
Discussions will take place against the backdrop of conflicts in the Middle East, Ukraine and Russia, and growing geopolitical tensions.
SA  will push for stronger intra-BRICS trade and investment, industrialisation and greater investment in African infrastructure aligned with the African Continental Free Trade Area.
