South Africa’s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has met South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit in Pretoria during Mayardit’s working visit to SA.
Ramaphosa has stressed the need for full implementation of South Sudan’s peace agreement, as the country prepares for elections in December.
He says an inclusive electoral process, built on trust and cooperation among South Sudanese stakeholders, is critical to advancing peace and stability.
Presidential Spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya says, “Ramaphosa underscored the need for an inclusive electoral process predicated on mutual trust and cooperation among South Sudanese stakeholders to address outstanding challenges and create an enabling environment for the effective implementation of the peace agreement, especially towards the lead up to the December elections.”
