The leader of South African (SA) civic movement March and March, Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, has called for stricter enforcement of immigration laws during a demonstration outside the Home Affairs offices on Che Guevara Road in Durban.

Addressing supporters, Ngobese-Zuma demanded that all foreign nationals respect SA law. The protest targeted a group of refugees and asylum seekers who have camped outside the facility for months, refusing to vacate until they are provided with alternative accommodation due to safety concerns in local townships.

While several campers hold valid legal status or pending asylum documentation, local authorities have intervened to resolve the prolonged standoff.

Under a newly established agreement with the eThekwini Municipality, the displaced group will be relocated to temporary housing facilities in Gauteng.
