SA President Cyril Ramaphosa, along with leaders from the GPG and the City of Johannesburg, is leading a Chief Executive Officer’s cleaning campaign in Soweto as part of the final preparations ahead of the gathering.
Speaking to SABC News on the sidelines of the president’s visit in Soweto, GPG Spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga said they are confident and prepared for the arrival of the world’s most industrialised nations.
Mhlanga said: “We are ready. It’s all systems go for the summit. We have tested everything that needs to be tested, including security and the infrastructure.”
He added: “SA is prepared, and Gauteng is ready to host the leaders who will be arriving for this important global event.”
