Ford Motor Company and Toyota South Africa (SA) Motors are issuing recalls affecting several of their vehicles.
Ford is recalling 438 Ranger XLT and Wildtrak models sold between February 18 and March 18, 2025, as well as 26 Puma vehicles from 2023–2024 sold between April 28, 2022, and September 22, 2023. The recall addresses a potential failure in the exhaust gas recirculation valve, which could cause engine power loss at low speeds, trigger dashboard warning lights, or prevent the engine from starting, increasing the risk of accidents.
Toyota SA Motors is recalling 58 Hino 700 vehicles sold between February 4 and November 9, 2025. The National Consumer Commission, led by Prudence Moilwa, says affected owners will be contacted to have their vehicles inspected and repaired.
