South Africa (SA) has responded to a post by United States (US) President

South Africa (SA) has responded to a post by United States (US) President Donald Trump on the Truth Social platform, in which he said that no US officials would attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit in the country as long as the “killing of Afrikaners continues.”

Earlier this year, Trump had announced that he would not attend the summit himself, instead sending Vice President J.D. Vance as the United States’ representative.

In a statement, the SA Ministry of International Relations and Co-operation said it had noted Trump’s post, describing it as regrettable. The Ministry added that the portrayal of Afrikaners as an exclusively white group is historically inaccurate and that claims of persecution against the community are not supported by facts.
