SA sends military helicopters to Mozambique in search for missing official

South Africa’s (SA) Department of International Relations says it has sent SA National Defence Force helicopters to help look for the missing Ekurhuleni mayoral committee member, Andile Mngwevu who has gone missing in Mozambique
 Mngwevu and other three people went missing in Chokwe Mozambique, after their vehicle was swept away by floods. The area has been affected by recent heavy rains which also affected the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. One occupant of the vehicle has been found safe and is in contact with South African rescue teams, who are working alongside Mozambican authorities. The department’s Spokesperson, Clayson Monyela says the efforts are ongoing.
“The mission has also made contact with the only person that managed to get out of the vehicle at the time of the incident, it was established that there were five people, in the vehicle, the status of the other four in this includes the MMC is yet to be confirmed. We’ve also been told that the South African national defence force will send two oryx helicopters to Mozambique to assist with search and rescue operations,” he said.
