SA Springboks face Fiji in final world cup warm-up match

South Africa’s (SA) national rugby team, Springboks will play Fiji in a final Rugby World Cup warm-up match on Australia’s Central Coast two weeks before they begin the defence of their World Cup title.
The warm-up match against Fiji will be played in Gosford, north of Sydney on the September 18, 2026.
The Springboks begin their world cup campaign for an unprecedented third title in a row on October the third of next year against Italy in Adelaide.
Meanwhile the Springboks are in Australia, preparing to face the Wallabies next Sunday in Perth.

The trip to Australia is as much about gathering intel for the 2027 Rugby World Cup as it is about facing an Australian side on the rise.

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus felt the need to remind anyone who needed to know that Australia has a proud rugby tradition and that matches between SA and Australia have deep significance.
