South Africa’s (SA) Springboks showed Japan the respect they deserved, delivering a high-intensity performance in their recent match. With that win secured, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus is now turning his attention to their upcoming clash against France.

Speaking ahead of the game in Paris, Erasmus acknowledged the unique challenge of playing in the French capital. “I remember in 2022, I was a water boy next to the field when we were still allowed there,” he recalled. “The passion, the intensity, the pressure, the whole cauldron in which you play, it’s something else. We have sufficient depth, quality, experienced players, and enough youth, but it’s a totally different ball game when you go in there.”

The Springboks will need to combine their experience and youthful energy to tackle the notoriously intense atmosphere of a French home crowd.
