SA takes over SADC Council of Ministers Chairmanship

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Honourable Professor Amon Murwira has formally handed over the Chairmanship of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Council of Ministers to South Africa’s (SA) Minister of International Relations and Co-operation, Ronald Lamola.
The Minister has highlighted that SADC member states should move forward together toward prosperity, guided by a common future and stronger regional cooperation.
The SADC Council of Ministers meeting is taking place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal today.

Murwira says: “I think we can come together, it is now my distinct honour and privilege to formally hand over the Chairmanship of the SADC Council of Ministers to my dear brother, honourable Lamola. My brother, we trust you with this vision, our vision, of a common future, of a confident people, of a people that walk together in dark, in light, in water, on land, taking the regional flame so that we as a people shall prosper.”
