South Africa (SA) says it will call for fair financing and equitable benefit-sharing at the upcoming United Nations Biodiversity COP17 in Yerevan, Armenia.
The 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, known as CBD COP17, will take place from October 19 to 30.
The SA delegation will be led by Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Narend Singh.
The country is expected to emphasise the need for developing nations to receive adequate financial support and benefit fairly from the use of genetic resources.
