Ashley Barnard top-scored with a fluent 40 off 29 balls, helping SA post 145 for seven, while Miya Lalor and Daneli Boshoff added a crucial seventh-wicket partnership.
Spinner Ashleigh van Wyk then led the bowling attack with three wickets for 18 runs, restricting Zimbabwe to 117 for eight.
The victory was built on a solid opening partnership and disciplined bowling, giving the SA U19 side a timely confidence boost in the tournament.
