South Africa (SA) is using one of Africa’s biggest defence and aerospace showcases to global investment, promote home grown technology and open doors for young people in the industry.
The Africa Aerospace and Defence Expo have opened at Air Force Base Waterkloof in Pretoria, bringing together government, military and industry representatives from Africa and beyond.
The event is also putting new technologies, including drones, artificial intelligence and electronic warfare, in the spotlight.
SA Navy Spokesperson Captain Greyling van den Berg says the expo provides a platform for international companies to strike business deals on African soil.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to officially open the exhibition.
