South Africa’s (SA) women’s soccer team Banyana Banyana sees their upcoming two friendly internationals against Algeria as an integral part of their preparations for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will get underway on the 25th of July.
Banyana Banyana is hard at work, finalising details for the WAFCON, which will take place in Morocco in July.
The competition was postponed last month.
Banyana Captain Refiloe Jane says the team must use these matches to improve problem areas within their game.
“It’s going to be very important for us to prepare very well, work on our tactics as a team. We still have to improve, and I hope the time we get help us.”
Hosts Morocco postponed the tournament last month, shortly before it was due to start.
But Banyana midfielder, Linda Motlhalo, says this was a blessing for the team, rather than a derailment.
