The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has been named Gold winner of the Ricardo Ortega Memorial Prize, recognising excellence in reporting on United Nations agencies and field operations.

The award honours the work of SABC New York correspondent Sherwin Bryce-Pease and video journalist Aaron Berbrick, whose coverage impressed the international judging panel.

SA’s Minister of International Relations, Ronald Lamola, congratulated the team, praising their achievement as a strong example of high-quality reporting from SA journalists on the global stage.
