SAFA, Adidas seal three-year deal to back SA’s national football teams

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has signed a three-year partnership with global sportswear company Adidas, which will now become the official technical sponsor for the country’s national football teams.

The collaboration marks a significant return for Adidas, evoking memories of national pride and unity last seen during SA’s hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

With Bafana Bafana having booked their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Banyana Banyana continuing to make their mark in women’s football, SAFA and Adidas say the partnership aims to usher in a new era for SA football.

Former national player Micheal Morton welcomed the deal, saying it would bring renewed excitement to the sport. He noted that the partnership would strengthen the identity of SA football while connecting the teams with one of the world’s most recognisable sports brands.

The agreement is expected to boost the visibility and prestige of the national teams as they prepare for future international competitions.
