Campaign Director Posik Espírito Santo confirmed that the funding was raised entirely through private individual donations and the president’s personal funds. Detailed financial statements have already been submitted to the Constitutional Court within the required legal timeframe for formal audit and approval.
Luso-São Toméan political analyst Celso Soares noted that this commitment to transparent financial reporting comes at a critical moment for the nation. Vila Nova faces substantial political and economic challenges in his second term, particularly as São Tomé and Príncipe prepares for upcoming legislative and municipal elections scheduled for September 27.
