In São Tomé and Príncipe, the ruling Independent Democratic Action (ADI) party and the MCI-PS/PUN coalition have reached a parliamentary agreement securing a 29-seat majority in the 55-member National Assembly for the government led by Américo Ramos.
The deal follows the September 27 legislative elections, which were won by the Movement for the Liberation of São Tomé and Príncipe with 24 seats.
Despite providing crucial parliamentary backing to enable the ADI to form a government, leadership from the MCI-PS/PUN coalition confirmed they will not take up ministerial posts within the cabinet, choosing instead to maintain oversight of executive decisions.
