The African National Congress (ANC), the largest party in South Africa’s (SA) Government of National Unity, has called for a continent-wide approach to migration.
The ANC says law enforcement alone cannot address the issue.
Speaking in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, the ANC’s Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula, urged the African Union to adopt a migration compact.
He argues that conflict, climate change and economic inequality are driving migration across the continent.
