South Africa’s (SA) Cape Town International Airport has confirmed that power and operations are fully restored following a fire that caused flight suspensions and delays on Tuesday.
Airports Company of SA Spokesperson Ofentse Dijoe says the fire broke out at the International inner lane, landside.
Dijoe says the fire was extinguished shortly after it ignited.
He says passengers and staff were evacuated safely, with incoming international flights being diverted to other airports.
The incident affected networks and Information Technology services, including airport Wi-Fi and other essential systems.
