Police have arrested 35 undocumented foreign nationals
South Africa’s (SA) Gauteng Traffic Police have arrested 35 undocumented foreign nationals on the N1 southbound at Pumulani Plaza this morning during a major roadblock.
Officers stopped a minibus and found four undocumented passengers before spotting another 15-seater attempting to make a U-turn to evade police.
The vehicle was chased and stopped, and police discovered 31 passengers inside the overloaded and unroadworthy minibus, all without legal documents.
Gauteng Traffic Police Spokesperson Sello Maremane says the driver and passengers are now facing charges including overloading, driving an unroadworthy vehicle and being in the country illegally.
