Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has warned his South African (SA) side against underestimating Angolan opponents Wiliete as the club commences its Confederation of African Football Champions League title defence.
The team travels to Lubango on Sunday for the first leg of their second-round tie. Cardoso has described the upcoming encounter as possessing all the competitive intensity of a group-stage match.
To ensure optimal readiness, Sundowns have gone the extra mile in their preparations by chartering a flight directly to Angola and keeping a close watch on Wiliete’s recent performances.
Cardoso emphasised that maximum focus and total commitment will be required from his players to secure a positive result before returning to Pretoria for next week’s return leg.
