SACP is looking forward to this year’s Tripartite Alliance Summit.

The Deputy General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP), Madala Masuku, says the party is looking forward to this year’s Tripartite Alliance Summit.

The summit, which brings together the African National Congress (ANC), the SACP and trade union federation Congress of SA Trade Unions, is expected to take place after this week’s ANC January 8 Statement celebrations in Moruleng, in the North West Province.
The alliance has recently faced internal tensions following a resolution taken at the SACP’s national congress to contest the upcoming municipal elections independently.
Masuku says he hopes the Tripartite Alliance Summit will place greater focus on addressing the needs of the working class and the poor.
He was speaking at the thirty first commemoration of Joe Slovo’s death in Soweto township, Gauteng Province.
