Schools in Bamako have reopened this week following a two-week closure caused by a nationwide fuel shortage that brought much of the country to a standstill.
The shortage had paralysed public transport, leaving many teachers and students unable to travel to schools. Authorities say fuel supplies have now stabilised, allowing educational activities to resume across the capital.
Parents and education officials have welcomed the reopening, expressing hope that the government will take steps to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
