South Africa’s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa says security will be tightened for witnesses at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry probing allegations of criminality, political Interference, and corruption in the Criminal Justice System.
This comes after an attempted hit on Wiandre Pretorius in the east of Johannesburg on Thursday morning.
Pretorius was implicated by slain Witness D at the Commission for his involvement in the alleged torture and killing of a motorist, by the Ekurhuleni Metro Police officers in 2022.
Last year Witness D also known as Marius van der Merwe, was killed after giving testimony at the commission.
Ramaphosa has expressed profound outrage at the latest incident.
