Seven armed groups in Ethiopia have announced they’ve formed an alliance to remove the government in Addis Ababa.
The group say Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed’s administration lacks legitimacy and warn that the country is at risk of disintegration.
The current government in Ethiopia was elected in June in a poll marred by violence.
On election day, 143 polling stations failed to open in the country’s two most-populous regions because of safety concerns caused by armed groups fighting the government.
Ethiopia has been grappling with armed conflicts for several years, as well as renewed tensions in the northern Tigray region.
