Ben Shelton says he is “not discouraged” after losing in straight sets to Jannik Sinner in the Australian Open quarter-finals. The eighth seed was beaten 6-3, 6-4, 6-4, with Sinner breaking once in each set while holding serve throughout
Despite Shelton’s powerful delivery, the two-time defending champion extended his dominance over the American to nine successive wins since their first meeting in 2023. Helton, who also lost to Sinner in last year’s semi-finals, insists he is “close to bringing it all together” as he aims to join the elite in men’s tennis.
