Aid organisation Save the Children has warned of a deepening humanitarian crisis in Somalia

Aid organisation Save the Children has warned of a deepening humanitarian crisis in Somalia, as rising food, fuel and water prices push millions closer to hunger.

The surge in costs, linked to ongoing tensions in the Middle East, is placing growing strain on already vulnerable communities. According to humanitarian agencies, one in three people in Somalia is now going hungry each day.

Children are among the hardest hit, with increasing risks of malnutrition, school dropouts and deteriorating health as families struggle to cope.

Aid groups are calling for urgent international support to help stabilise prices, expand food assistance and prevent the situation from worsening further.
