SADC inks deal with Gulf market to boost cross border investment

Southern Africa is pushing to market itself as a single, unified destination for global investors, bringing regional stock exchanges together to boost cross-border trading and attract major international capital.

Speaking at the AIM Congress 2026, Southern African Development Community (SADC) Executive Secretary Elias Magosi said the region is moving past the model of small, isolated domestic markets.

A major outcome of the gathering was a new agreement signed between the Committee of SADC Stock Exchanges and the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. The deal links Southern African stock markets with Abu Dhabi’s Tabadul Hub, opening a direct investment channel between the Middle East and Southern Africa.

SADC officials also showcased a new digital trading gateway aimed at making cross-border share trading easier and more liquid across member nations.
