The world champions completed a 3-1 series triumph after outscoring New Zealand by six tries to four in an entertaining final match.

The Springboks made a confident start, attacking from inside the South African (SA) 22 before winning successive penalties.

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu converted the second penalty to give SA an early 3-0 lead.

New Zealand responded quickly, moving the ball across the field with pace and precision before creating space for Codie Taylor to score the opening try.

The Springboks regained control through powerful carries from the backs and forwards. Damian de Allende completed the attack by forcing a way across the try line.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu added the conversion as SA moved back in front.

Play was later interrupted by a lengthy delay after a communication problem between the match officials and Television Match Official.

When the game resumed, SA won a penalty and kicked towards the corner.

The Springboks established a rolling maul before scrumhalf Morne van den Berg spotted a gap in the New Zealand defence. Van den Berg sold a dummy and darted through to score SA’s second try.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu converted again, extending the Springboks’ advantage to 17-7.

The All Blacks responded with one of the most sustained attacking passages of the opening half.

New Zealand retained possession for more than 30 phases against determined SA defence, patiently searching for an opening.

Quick handling across the backline eventually released Will Jordan, who crossed beneath the posts. The conversion reduced SA’s lead to three points.

The Springboks entered half-time leading 17-14 after a demanding and fast-paced opening 40 minutes.

SA went on to take control of the contest after the interval, completing a deserved 43-28 victory and becoming the first winner of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry.
