Sudan’s armed forces have accused Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of being involved in a drone strike targeting Khartoum airport.
The North African nation has repeatedly alleged that the UAE backs the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
This is a paramilitary group that has been fighting the national army since 2023, an accusation Abu Dhabi denies.
In its latest claims, Sudan also alleged that Ethiopia allowed drones to be launched from its territory.
Ethiopia’s Foreign Ministry has rejected the accusations as “baseless,” denying any involvement and countering that Sudan’s military has itself supported hostile actors and violated Ethiopia’s territorial integrity.
