Sudan’s Army Chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has confirmed the withdrawal of his forces from their last stronghold in Darfur.
This comes as the United Nations sounds the alarm over reports of fresh atrocities by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), now in full control of the city of El-Fasher.
Independent analyst Mohiedeen Mohamed: “These horrific acts and Barbarian killing carried out by the RSF have one purpose, it’s a systematic act meant to force civilians to flee their homes in order to disabling them returning soon in a way to force a demographic change in Darfur region by mobilizing new society”
The State Minister of Information Khalid Al-Esir: “We are calling on everyone to criminalise the RSF of militia and its leaders and to hold them accountable, what happened in Elfashir and Bara city Northern Kordofan has been happening in Sudan since April 15t in different regions. We are calling on the world to designate the RSF as a terrorist group.”
