Elon Musk has made financial history by becoming the world’s first trillionaire

South African-born entrepreneur Elon Musk has made financial history by becoming the world’s first trillionaire, following the sensational initial public offering (IPO) of his aerospace and technology company, SpaceX, on the Nasdaq stock exchange.

The company’s shares skyrocketed during their trading debut, closing nearly 20% above the initial offering price. This massive surge pushed the total market valuation of the rocket, satellite, and artificial intelligence firm well beyond the two-trillion-Dollar mark, instantly multiplying Musk’s personal fortune to unprecedented levels.

While SpaceX firmly dominates global satellite internet through its Starlink network and commands the commercial rocket launch sector, financial analysts warn that the company’s staggering new valuation is highly speculative. Market experts point out that the current share price relies on immense expectations for the firm’s unproven artificial intelligence division, which has yet to demonstrate a commercial or technical edge over established artificial intelligence (AI) market leaders like OpenAI and Anthropic.

The historic share float has generated billions in fresh capital, which Musk intends to channel into capital-intensive, frontier projects. These include building next-generation orbital data infrastructure and accelerating his long-term ambitions for deep-space exploration.
