The 20th edition of Meetings Africa gets underway today at the Sandton Convention Centre, Gauteng Province, South Africa (SA) bringing together business events stakeholders from across the continent and beyond.
The annual event aims to position Africa as a competitive global destination for business tourism, by creating a platform that connects African exhibitors with international buyers, investors and decision makers in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector.
This year’s programme features a two day trade show, preceded by a dedicated Business Opportunity Networking Day, known as BONDay, which focuses on knowledge sharing, skills development and industry collaboration.
The educational programme is hosted in partnership with leading global, continental and national industry associations.
General Manager of the Sandton Convention Centre, Shaun Bird, says the event comes at a critical time, as the tourism and business events industry continues to recover and gain momentum following the disruptions caused by the COVID‑19 pandemic.
