The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) received the Minister of Defence of the Republic of The Gambia at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The diplomatic engagement focused on evaluating regional security co-operation, peace-building frameworks across West Africa, and strengthening multilateral partnerships between The Gambia and the continental body.
During the bilateral meeting, both sides discussed ongoing security sector reforms, sub-regional stability mechanisms, and strategic commitments under the AU’s peace and security architecture.
The dialogue highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between national defence establishments and continental security institutions to address regional governance and security challenges.
The visit reaffirms Banjul’s active commitment to supporting AU initiatives aimed at fostering long-term stability and institutional resilience.
