Thousands of people are expected to flock to beaches across South Africa’s (SA) Western Cape province on Thursday, December 26, as families mark the Day of Goodwill following Christmas Day celebrations.
The public holiday is traditionally spent at the coast by many Cape Town residents, with popular beaches including Clifton, Camps Bay, Melkbosstrand, Muizenberg, Strandfontein, Monwabisi and Strand expected to draw large crowds.
The City of Cape Town has confirmed that law enforcement officers will be deployed in full force to ensure public safety and maintain order. Authorities have reiterated that alcohol consumption is prohibited on all beaches, warning that those who flout the regulations will face firm action.
Officials have urged beachgoers to comply with safety regulations and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure a safe and enjoyable Day of Goodwill.
