The Uganda Law Society says there is a direct connection between the deepening crisis in the countries’ justice system and the events unfolding in Kampala City.

The society says the events happened since the beginning of last week.

It says while the military has locked down the city centre and foreign guests have been invited to the inauguration of Yoweri Museveni as the President of Uganda.

They say the actual constitutional and legal requirements for the declaration of a winner in the Presidential election of January 15, 2026, have not yet been fully met.
