Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has assumed the role of Chair of the East African Community (EAC), taking over leadership at the EAC Heads of State Summit held in Arusha.
The summit also appointed Ambassador Stephen Patrick Mbundi of Tanzania as the new Secretary-General of the regional bloc, reinforcing efforts to deepen integration and cooperation among member states.
In his remarks, Museveni expressed gratitude to fellow leaders for entrusting him with guiding the EAC over the next year, highlighting the importance of unity and shared development across East Africa.
