Uganda’s Wine leaves country after extended period in hiding

Bobi Wine has temporarily left the country
Ugandan opposition leader, Robert Chakulanyi well known as Bobi Wine has temporarily left the country after spending nearly two months in hiding.
In a video on social media, he said he was travelling abroad for what he called “critical engagements”, though he didn’t reveal details.
The five-minute video message on X was Wine’s first public appearance in weeks.
He says he fled his home in Kampala after security forces raided it following January’s election, which he claims was rigged in favour of longtime President Yoweri Museveni.
Wine he has now left Uganda, promising to return to continue his political struggle.
